Recording Attendance for a Lesson

How to mark which students were present at a lesson, and how to edit attendance after the fact.

Last updated 29 May 2026

Recording attendance after each lesson gives you an accurate record of which students participated. This information is visible on the student profile.

Important! If your students pay for completed lessons, taking attendance is a must for the Stripe invoice to generate with the correct number of lessons. The invoice is based on the number of lessons the student attended.

Record attendance for a lesson

  1. Go to Classes & Lessons and click the relevant class
  2. Click the Lessons tab
  3. Click the lesson row for the date you want to record
  4. Mark each student as Present by ticking their checkbox or Absent by leaving the checkbox empty
  5. Save

The lesson status changes to Completed and the attendance count appears in the lessons list (e.g. "4 of 5").

Edit attendance after saving

If you need to correct attendance after it has been submitted:

  1. Open the lesson from the Lessons tab
  2. Click Edit attendance in the side panel
  3. Make your corrections
  4. Save

Note: Attendance can be edited at any time up until the lesson has been charged for (if you use payment for completed lessons) — after this date the activity is locked.

Viewing a student's attendance history

To see how often a student has attended:

  1. Search the student's name (for example using the search bar) and click the student's name
  2. In the side panel, click the Overview tab if not already there
  3. Under Classes, the Attendance column shows the percentage of lessons the student has attended.
